Edit Spreadsheet on iPhone using Google Spreadsheet

by Simon Ng on February 24, 2009

Edit Spreadsheet on iPhoneGoogle is working really hard to bring more features to iPhone and other mobiles. Not long ago, Google released Google Sync and Google Book Search for mobile. Here is another new feature – Edit Spreadsheet in Google Spreadsheet. You can now use your iPhone and edit any spreadsheet by using Google Spreadsheet.

If you’re a long-time Google Doc and iPhone user, you may probably know you can use Google Doc to view Microsoft Office document including doc and excel. But over the year, Google only enable view-access for Google Doc. But now, you can use Google Docs spreasheets to edit spreadsheet, as Google announced earlier:

You can quickly view, edit, sort, and filter your spreadsheets on a variety of mobile devices including Android-powered devices like the T-Mobile G1, the iPhone and iPod touch, and the Nokia S60.

Try this out, point your iPhone’s browser to m.google.com/docs and open any spreadsheet in your account. Then tap “Edit” to start editing. Once you fill in all the values, tap “Submit” to confirm the change.

To add a new record, you can tap “+Add” button to create a new one. That’s it.

Though we may not create a new spreadsheet from scratch using iPhone, it’s a nice enhancement from Google. When there is any ad-hoc change to my spreadsheet, now I can edit it on-the-go.

What do you think about this new feature for iPhone? Leave us comment and share with other readers.
