iPod Touch 2G Jailbreak: iPhone Dev Team makes the Impossible Possible again…

by Simon Ng on January 19, 2009

iPhone Dev Team has announced iPod Touch 2G can now be jailbroken using a software with codename “redsn0w”. This incredible team has once again made the impossible possible. Earlier, they can only manage to jailbreak iPod Touch 1G.

But for iPod Touch 2G user, you’ll have to wait for a little while. As mentioned by the team, they have proved the jailbreak work but the procedures is too manual that it’s not ready for novice. Don’t worry. iPhone Dev Team will develop a simple tool for the jailbreak. Probably, the tool will look like QuickPwn for iPhone and iPod Touch 1G.

To demonstrate how the jailbreak works, iPhone Dev Team has published a video on Qik:

For starter wondering why you need to jailbreak your iPod Touch, you can check out the “Why Jailbreak: Top 5 to Jailbreak iPhone”. Though the post is titled for iPhone, it also applies to iPod Touch.

I’ll let you know once the jailbreak tool is released. Stay Tuned.
