iPhone Dev Team is working deligently and now yellowsn0w 0.95 beta, the unlock solution for iPhone 3G, is just released. The new update fixes a number of issues including some SIM Toolkit (STK) issues. It’s recommended to upgrade to the latest version in case you can unlock the iPhone 3G using older version of yellowsn0w.
For a complete guide for iPhone 3G unlock using yellowsn0w, you can refer to this post.
Also, I recommend you to submit any issue to iPhone Dev Team directly in case your unlock is not a success. You can report your issue here.
Does this updated version work for you? Please also leave us comment and share your unlock result.

Yes it works.I found that i had to turn of everything in boss prefs and also go into network apn settings and manually delete the setting and then went to flymode for 3 to 5 secs then back of and bang up it came.
Stable as can send & receive text, mms, data from 3g incoming and outging calls all works perfect.
I have no settings what so ever in the apn settings before i couldnt connect it was saying telstra.iph as soon as i deleted that it came up full strenght.
