Four months ago, I wrote a post about various types of keyboard shortcuts and navigation tricks for iPhone, with coverage about:
- Double tap to insert a period and space
- Type punctuation with less tap
- Type currency with “$” sign
- Zoom into your message
- Domain shortcut (for iPhone 2.0 or up)
- Navigate faster with the top bar
- View URL of Hyperlink in Safari
With the release of iPhone 2.2, it’s time for the update. Apple has bundled one additional shortcut in the latest version of firmware. Simply tap the Home button at any page of the home screen. You’ll be automatically brought back to the first page of home screen. This shortcut is especially useful as you install more applications on iPhone that occupy over 5 pages of screen.

Great tip! First time I’ve read about it!
I jailbroke 2.1 after using unjailbroken 2.2 for quite some time and I noticed how often I used this feature. I find it very very useful.
