Join Smule’s Ocarina iPhone Contest and Win $1000

by Simon Ng on December 13, 2008

Smule announced “This Contest Blows”, an online video contest for Ocarina. If you haven’t heard of Ocarina, it is an iPhone application that transforms iPhone into a flute-like instrument. I wrote a review of Ocarina earlier and you can check out this post to learn more about it.

When first released on App Store, Ocarina drew a lot of attention. As mentioned by Smule, in celebrating the amazing response world-wide, here comes to the Ocarina iPhone Contest to reward the top-10 best Ocarina musician.

How to join the Contest

  • Make your video(s) featuring the Ocarina in a Smulean way!
  • Post your video on YouTube as a response to The Mule’s official “This Contest Blows” Introduction Video or post it in our “This Contest Blows” Group on YouTube.
  • Then, complete the entry form on the right side of this page.

How to win $1000

The top-10 best video will win $1000 each! Quoted from Smule, winners will be determined by a Smulean algorithm, combining number of ratings, average number of stars, and total number of views on YouTube. Smule will also be appointing a panel of judges to oversee the contest and they will have the ultimate decisive authority if needed.

The contest will end at 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time on Jan 10, 2009. For more details about the contest, you can check the official contest website and the video.

For starter, you still have a month to practise Ocarina. Check out Ocarina and learn more. Do remember to leave me comment if you have joined the contest. Good luck!
