I'm having a problem. I have a 3G and it was running on the 3.1 firmware, but i needed to downgrade to 3.0 to jailbreak it. So i downloaded the 3.0 firmware and tried to restore it, but it keeps saying "unknown error". Any hints or tips on what I should do?

Hi Simon, I just wanted to thank you.

I first upgraded my 2G (original) 1.1.4 version Ziphone to 2.0 version with pwnage (and had to update itunes to 7.7), then I upgraded from 2.0 to 2.2 version with pwnage (and had to update itunes to 8.0.2).

Both upgrades went off without a hitch. The only thing that threw me off was on the 2.2 upgrade, I selected "new" phone which deleted all my contacts and calendars from the phone. But I eventually was able to figure out how to retrieve contacts and calendar them in itunes 8.0.2 in the "Info" section.

Thanks again, this was awesome! I await the 3.0 upgrade from the Dev-Team!

Hi Simon
Few things
When I am in the recovering mode, ITunes asking me for restore and update, and I cant. I have changed the automatic update on the general tab, but the Itunes will not recover without the automatic update enable.

Another thing Itunes already has the OS 3.0, is there a Jailbreak for update for that OS?

Many Thanks

My phone is jailbroken (using this great guide!). What steps do I need to take to upgrade to 3.0 and still remain jailbroken? I'm assuming that I should NOT upgrade to 3.0 through iTunes, but don't know what else to do. Thanks!

Thanks for the tutorial!
Having an issue, I went through the whole process, but iTunes gives me the message
"The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported."
I am using t-mobile.
Where did I go wrong?
