iPolariod shows your iPhone Photos on Desktop via WiFi

by Simon Ng on November 18, 2008

iPolariod does not make into the top-50 list in iPhone’s App Store. But, it’s a simple and cool application from Samposoft that you should take a look. iPolaroid lets you view photos of your iPhone’s camera roll on desktop via Wifi.

Before launching iPolaroid, ensure you have the Wifi turned on. The interface is very simple with a single screen showing you the URL. Open your browser (e.g. Safari, Internet Explorer or Firefox with Adobe Flash plugin) and type in the URL. iPolaroid will bring you all photos in your camera roll and show you on a wooden desktop. You can drag the photos around and double-click on anyone of them to enlarge it.

iPolariod is not a big hit in App Store and with average rating. Most of the users complained about the performance of loading photo and sometimes it even doesn’t show up the photos in browsers. I tested the application in IE, Firefox and Safari on both Windows Vista and Mac. I’m really lucky that I do not find any major issues. The only issue I found is the application is quite CPU-intensive. It seems takes up quite a lot of my computer resources for viewing the photos on browser.

Anyway, it’s a cool application with no cost. So, next time, when you want to show off your iPhone photos to your colleagues at office. No need to pass along your iPhone. Launch iPolaroid and ask them to view it in browser.

You can download iPolaroid from App Store via this iTunes link.
