I was back from Japan a couple days ago. The vacation was really great. I travelled to Osaka, Kyoto, Toyama and Nagoya for more than a week. Dear readers, thanks for stumble upon my blog and leaving me comments. I’m trying to reply them one by one. Please do check back soon.

Over a week’s stay at Japan, just by observation, iPhone is not so popular in Japan. Flip phone is all around. You can easily find people using flip phone for SMS when you’re taking subway or Japan Rail.

That’s quite different from that in my hometown – Hong Kong, that iPhone/iPod Touch is so common and you can easily find people from all ages using iPhone. Probably, the input method is one of the reasons from luring people to switch to iPhone. From what I experienced, Japanese get used to rely on text message for communication, especially when they’re travelling on rail or subway. In terms of accuracy and speed, the input method provided on iPhone is just not comparable to that offered on flip mobile. This is just my blind guess. I didn’t do any survey on it.
