I did a hard reset and it fixed my inability to connect over WiFi. I had even RESTORED MY IPHONE and it still wasn't working, so I was pretty bewildered when the support tech informed me just to hard reset the thing. That's when you press the top button and the home button until the thing shuts off by itself. It will ask you to "slide to shut off", but don't do it, instead just hold those two buttons until it shuts itself off.

i also think that this wifi problem is with the baseband.
i bought iphone 3g with 2.0 firmware, and upgraded to 2.1 without any problem, and now 2.2 also without any problem. after a few weeks i installed a wallpaper pack from cydia installer and suddenly i lost wifi. there after my iphone couldnt detect any wifi point. so i cant say that this is some shit happened with the phones hardware! this may be with baseband, but i am having 2.28 baseband. now i am going to update apples original update with basebad. or beter to wait for dev boys to fix this fuck.
anyways steve job u sux, u r a son of dick, a jobless shit. so beter make sum cury with ur mom's cum. listen!!! we will use iphone no mater wot it happens, hahaha we dont need limitations (repeat)

Same problem here. Connects to wifi but the internet won't work. My husband's got a non-jailbroken iphone (3G, 2.1, unlocked with turbosim, just as mine) and he has no problem using wifi. Neither had I until jailbreaking (actually it seemed to work for a day or so). What is wrong here?
Don't think manual configuring will solve the problem as the phone still won't be able to connect to any wifi networks only to the one at home.

thanks very much for looking into this important issue. I have a JAU'd iphone with 2.0 firmware and I have read that 2.1 is really great. But the wifi is hugely important to me and I haven't upgraded because of this issue.
