Hi Tony,

I am just confused – once i perform entire step on iphone 3g – will it be jailbroken or Unlocked or both….

and want to know difference in both. Also which is the latest firmware on iphone 3g these days (i know 3.1 cant be broken, is this true).

Do let me know your views.

quick question…once you have jailbroken the iphone 3G, are you actually able to use the iphone and go on cydia without having a SIM card inserted.. Because i have one ordered on the way and i have a T-Mobile SIM … I had a 2g and without a sim it would not let you into the phone

@Hao, after jailbreak, cydia should be installed. Did you check the “Add cydia” box in step 10? If not, please go through the procedures from step 1 again.

@biggy, I do not have the gray out problem on iPhone 3.0. I think it's quite safe to upgrade to iPhone 3.0. You can refer to this upgrade & jailbreak guide for details.

i have an iphone 2g OTB 1.1.2

I heard the 3.0 grays out the wifi and there is no fix.

can i unlock using quickpwn from 1.1.2 to 2.2?

What OS is best for my otb 1.1.2.I need my wifi to work and not grayed out.

but i have problem when insert sim card.
i have thru step5, it is stop here and require “insert sim card”, and i insert T-moble sim card. window note: not activate sim card.
i don’t know what i will continoun for this process.
note: i am not back for turnoff 3G. how can i do for now? please let me know, thanks
