Hi Simon,

My 2g phone has been locked because i tried to upgrade firmware from itune.
it is showing follwing msg:
“The sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported”

before it gets locked it had firmware 2.2.1 now when i am tryiing to Quickpwn it is asking firmware , saying “The correct ipsw will have a name beginning with iphone1,1_3.1.2″ and i m usiing quickpwn version 2.2.1

Please help me to rid off with this problem.

i tried to upgrade my iphone 1.1.4 to 2.0 using winpwn,but its not happening and it shows an error 1600 in itunes..plz help ..my iphone is dead now

Thanks Simon for your reply. Sorry, i’m a newbie on iphone and so got alot of questions to ask. Once iphone 3.0 launch can i restore the back my jailbroken iphone to original setting to upgrade it to iphone 3.0?

@kkkk, after jailbreak you can use Clippy to perform cut, copy & paste. But if you're worried about the risk of jailbreaking, you may wait for the official release of iPhone 3.0, which comes with native support of copy & paste.

Hi Simon, I just purchase a new iphone 3G in Singapore with version 2.2.1 firmware 02.30.03. After looking at all the post about jailbreaking, it give me a urge to jailbreak my iphone 3G. Can you please tel me whether i can jailbreak it with the version i have and how should i do it. I’m using a Window xp os. Please help! Thanks

i been reading all the comments and it seems like you can do all this update and get it jailbreak. but i’m still a little worried that once i did all of that and it won’t work.

i just got a used iphone 3g .. its unlocked .. here in dubai .. its got cydia n all .. now i can’t register the iphone as my own on my itunes .. can i restore it and register it as a new iphone? will that relock the phone. thanks! looking forward to ur reply
