Earlier, I wrote about NuevaSync to sync your iPhone calendar with Google one wirelessly. Now, another application with similar name called “NemusSync” also provides the same kind of calendar synchronization between iPhone and Google. If you’re long-time jailbreak iPhone user, you may have heard of this application. NemusSync has been released for quite a while and supports Google calendar synchronization on firmware 1.1.4.
While NuevaSync makes use of iPhone 2.0’s Exchange server support to sync with Google calendar, NemusSync synchronizes directly with Google Calendar. Unlike NeuvaSync, no account registration is required for NemusSync. You can just download the application via Cydia and configure your Google account. And then start sync with your Google Calendar.
Installation
NemusSync is distributed through Cydia. Make sure you have configured the following source in Cydia (Manage -> Sources):
http://apt.bigboss.us.com/repofiles/cydia/
The application can be found under “System” section. Once installed, launch NemusSync from the home screen. Next, tap “Add New Account” and type in your Google Google account. And then, tap “[Get Calendar List]” to retrieve all your available Google calendars and tap “Save” to go back to main screen. Tap “ON” for Upload Event to complete the configuration.

Unlike NuevaSync, NemusSync does not perform synchronization automatically. In the main screen of NemusSync, you should see a “[Sync Calendars]” button. Tap it and start synchronize your iPhone Calendar with Google calendar. After that, go back to iPhone calendar. You should see all your events in Google calendar are loaded onto the iPhone.

Can NemusSync periodically sync between calendars?
From the FAQ of NemusSync, it mentioned you can but it cannot be configured through the existing user interface. Again, you need to know SSH to transfer a configuration file from your computer to iPhone.
Tips: If you want to learn more how you can transfer file to iPhone, you may refer to this post.
- To configure periodic synchronization, download the “.plist” file from NemusSync
- Transfer the file to “/Library/LaunchDaemons” using SSH
- Restart your iPhone
NemusSync vs NuevaSync
Wondering which application you should use to sync iPhone calendar with Google Calendar? Here is a brief comparison between NemusSync and NuevaSync.
Ease of Installation
NemusSync – No additional account registration. Only install it via Cydia and configure your Google account. Pretty straightforward.
NeuvaSync – No software installation is required. But require extra registration at NeuvaSync.com. Also you need to configure Exchange setting in iPhone. Installation is not difficult. The configuration of Exchange setting, however, may not be comfortable for novice user.
Firmware Support
NemusSync – Support firmware 1.1.4 & 2.0 and requires JailBreak iPhone
NeuvaSync – Support firmware 2.0 onwards and works on both Jailbreak and official iPhone
Synchronization Support
NemusSync – Synchronization is activiated by user. You need to launch NemusSync and explicitly tap on the “Sync Calendar” button
NeuvaSync – Automatic synchronization. Once, you add an event in Google/iPhone calendar, it will be automatically synchronized between calendars.
Multiple Calendar Support
NemusSync – Support multiple calendars
NeuvaSync – Only sync with the default calendar
Obviously, if you’re still in firmware 1.1.4, you do not have much choice. Go with NemuSync. For firmware 2.0 users, better decide whether you need multiple calendar support from NemusSync or benefit from the automatic synchronization of NeuvaSync.

thx for the howto! nemussync is my prefered thing.
Wow great “How to” article. I really like this because I wanted nice calendar on my Iphone but I can`t find application. But this works and looks great!
Looks like nuevasync supports multiple calendars now as well. the only reason I can think of not to use it is that the MS Exchange server protocol it must pass through doesn’t support setting multiple reminders. However, you can do that on the google end, for what that’s worth.
