iPhone Firmware 2.0.2 Released… But Not Yet Ready for Jailbreak iPhone

by Simon Ng on August 19, 2008

Update: iPhone Dev team has released QuickPwn to jailbreak firmware 2.0.2. You may give it a shot if you’re so eager to pickup the latest firmware.

iPhone firmware 2.0.2 is now available for download through iPhone. As mentioned by Apple, this is another bug fix version with no major feature upgrade. Apple does not detail the issues that are fixed in the release. But early adopter of the firmware reported that it offers better 3G performance, *may be* solved the 3G connectivity issues and better response for launching address book.

BUT, for those owning unlocked/jailbreak iPhone, please do not upgrade to this version of firmware yet. Both Pwnage Tool and WinPwn are not ready to jailbreak this release.

William, you may miss the update. iPhone Dev Team has already released a tool called “QuickPwn” to unlock firmware 2.0.2. So give it a shot and recover your phone. You can find my post about QuickPwn here.
