Am I right in thinking that many of the applications that one has on a 3G 2.2.1 iPhone will not be acceptable when upgrading to 3.0 and 3.0.1? Is there a list of some sorts for both the Apple Store and Cydia the possibles/impossibles?. Could be useful. I've got a feeling that firmware is going to change fairly rapidly in future but will the Apps be able to keep up?. It's irritating to be using a certain application successfully only to find that it becomes obsolete on upgrading!! Be interested in other views on this points.

@Bill, you can just restore the original firmware to unjailbreak the iPhone.
