I have windows 7 and itunes 9 and when i browse the restore file (step 6) the file is split into a bunch of folders and i looked through them all.

step by step did everything but having the last problem(while was restoring the iphone got the error) i downloaded the itunes 7.7. my iphone still got in dfu mode all the time i tried to do again the process but itunes send the error 1604 again and again. even 1.1.4 is not in the iphone and 2.0 neither. what i can do with it? even in dfu trying with itunes say: error 1604….. ;(

heyy simon well i did everything but trying with ituns 8.0 but at the end of everything tell me recoreing the iphone by itunes tell me there is an erro (106) so then my iphone got in DFU mode forever. i dunno what to do how to fix it and hen try again with the itunes 7.7………some advices?…

Hi,
I followed all instructions upto the point where I place the pone in the DFU mode and do not seem to get beyond that. I do not get a confirmation in the system tray and when itunes is launched, it does not detect it as a new device. The only difference betwen your requirements and what I have is I am using itunes 8.2.1.
I’ve tried placing my iphone in the DFU mode many times, it just will not start after the procedure and and above happens. I am at 1.1.4 and upgrading o 2.0
Please advice.

HEY simon,
I am uprading my iphone from firmware 2.0 to 2.2 using your method…
everthing works fine, but after everything is selected in quickpwn as you said and when i click the next button after it reconfirms that whether the iphone is connected or not…it just shows “Wait for ur iphone to connect in recovery mode” in bold letters and nothing happens…the phone does not go into recovery mode….
WHAT SHOULD I DO??

@AdltYa, installer is quite dated. I suggest you to upgrade to iPhone 3.0. By upgrading to latest version, you can have cydia installed and download more free applications. You can follow this jailbreak guide and upgrade to iPhone 3.0.

Hey Simon….
I had installed Cydia in my iphone because of which my installer application stopped to work.In the sense that no new apps are being uploaded..im using 1.1.4 firmware and cydia is also not showing any new applications…
So what do i do???How do i uninstall cydia and make my installer better??

@Daniel, I suggest you to restore your iPhone and go through the jailbreak process again. And, you can find the latest jailbreak guide here and upgrade to firmware 3.0.
