Send Photos from iPhone to Flickr

by Simon Ng on March 29, 2008

I’m a big fan of Flickr, an online photo management and sharing application (if you haven’t heard about it), powered by Yahoo. I use Flickr to keep most of my photo collection and share them with my friends. One great thing I particularly appreciate is it offers great API support that provides a simple way to integrate with other applications such as the flickr feed on my blog.

If you are Flickr user, you probably want a solution to bypass the synchronization (between iPhone & your computer) and upload the photos from iPhone to your Flickr collection directly. Maclife revealed a solution that makes use of flickr’s email account to upload photos. That’s viable but still not perfect. And iFlickr does that. iFlickr can read the iPhone photos (only those taken by iPhone) and send photos to your Flickr account directly.

iFlickr allows simple configuration of your flickr photo, such as private or public, title/description and tagging. And, one more interesting feature it comes with is Geotag. iFlick tries to guess the location (via cell phone triangulation) where the photo is taken and automatically geotag it on Flickr. I tried it using my Flickr account but the result is not that precise and actually quite far away from actual location. Hope it’ll be better in the next version.

As usual, you can download and install iFlickr through Installer (under Multimedia category).
